Irrigation charges in winter?

When the leaves start to turn colors, that means winter is right around the corner. In preparation for winter, irrigation systems should be winterized, which means removing all the water in the lines so it doesn't freeze and break the lines during the winter months. But after this is done, you open your Louisville Water bill and see an 'Irrigation Service' charge. Why? We can explain -- and we have a tip that might save you a little money too !

Congratulations to Shannon Travis, Shishir Shulka, Gordan Shirley, Clifford Salmon, and Pat Meyers who were our winners from August's picture contest! The August contest picture below is of new fire hydrants stored at our Allmond Avenue facility. Did you know that we maintain 2,400 fire hydrants in our service area? We have crews who are dedicated to servicing fire hydrants so they are ready to go when firefighters need them.
