In Remembrance: Elizabeth Ewell

The Goddard community mourns the loss of Green Keepers Business and Operations Manager Elizabeth Ewell, who passed away in late November. Elizabeth took great pride in the Green Keepers' work making the Upper West Side clean and green. She also reveled in the progress each one made to overcome barriers to employment and become thriving members of the workforce. Here's what she said in a 2017 blog post:

“Some have never had a paycheck and when you’re an adult it's a big deal. They start looking at the world differently. They’re invested in their work. They’re bubbly when the plants come up. They hold each other to a high standard.

“They walk with pride – and that’s the goal.”
Volunteers make our Holidays Meals possible! Huge thanks to everyone who spent Christmas Day cooking, serving and cleaning so more than a thousand people could enjoy a delicious meal.
