Neabsco Watershed - Cleanup Event

In March at the Neabsco Eagles Park area; near Julie J. Metz wetland, Prince William Trails and Streams Coalition (PWTSC) and the Woodbridge Potomac Community Civic Association ( WPCCA) coordinated the cleanup event while
REI-Coop Woodbridge coordinated volunteers around the Neabsco Park boardwalk area. From the boardwalk area, 126 Trash Bags, 55 Tires, 1 55-gallon plastic drum, 15 5-gallon buckets, 10 Boards, 2 30-gallon propane tanks, 1 fire extinguisher, 1 5-gallon propane tank among other items were collected.
Kudos to REI- Coop, PWTSC and WPCCA for supporting the Soil and Water Conservation District programs!
247 volunteers , 260 trash bags ( primarily of plastic bottles), and
82 tires was registered.
Over 9,350 lbs of the trash and debris was intercepted from entering the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay.
Kudos to Girl Scout Service Unit 80-9 from eastern PW County; Sev1Tech, Verizon, students, other Scout troop unites and organizations who volunteered at this event.
