SCV Water Increases Water Supply Reliability for Dry Years
New Drought Relief Project Plans for Long-Term Water Demands

SCV Water and its water banking partners, Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District (RRBWSD) and Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD), recently opened six new groundwater wells and a conveyance system to the Cross Valley Canal in Kern County. “The project and partnership is part of the Drought Relief Project,” said SCV Water Board President Bill Cooper. “The focus is on developing the capacity to recover water during dry years and longterm droughts or other major emergencies.”

Water Professionals Appreciation Week

Recently, SCV Water celebrated California's 3rd annual "Water Professionals Appreciation Week" which took place October 5-13, 2019.

Throughout the week we featured various departments on our Social Media and their important contributions.

Water Professionals Appreciation Week was established in California by the Legislature in 2017. The week honors and highlights the professionals who help deliver clean reliable water to your homes everyday.

NOVEMBER GARDENING TIP
With the significant cooling that takes place in November, and the beginning of the rainy season (we hope!) be sure to adjust your watering schedule for cooler weather, using less water. Now is the time to cut ornamental grasses back to the ground once they show signs of new growth. Finish planting any of the winter fruits and veggies, trees or perennials you had planned on add and start preparing for next month by ordering bare-root trees and shrubs, roses, and vegetables for planting next month.

Our friends at  Better Homes and Gardens have some great suggestions.
