Journal of Dental Hygiene Study Finds Water Flossers are the Primary Self-Care Device Recommended for Dental Implants
Water Flosser One of the Few Devices Studied on Implants

Dental implants have become the treatment of choice for the replacement of missing teeth from a single tooth to full dentures. Implants, while considered very successful, are vulnerable to mucositis and peri-implant disease. Regular professional care and daily self-care is essential.

The Waterpik® Water Flosser is one of the few self-care devices that has been tested on implants and found safe and effective. A study at Tufts University in Boston found that the Water Flosser used with plain water and the
Plaque Seeker® Tip was more than twice as effective as string floss at reducing gingival bleeding. No adverse events were reported in either the Water Flosser or string floss groups. The investigators concluded that the Waterpik® Water Flosser is safe and significantly more effective than string floss for improving gingival health around implants.
The Plaque Seeker® Tip features three thin tufts of bristles to help access plaque around implants, crowns, bridges and veneers.
The Implant Denture Tip is specifically designed to access areas unreachable with other tips to clean a fixed implant supported denture or bridge.
