About the Program

As California grapples with ongoing water challenges, understanding the legal frameworks governing water supply has never been more critical. This MCLE-accredited program will explore the legal structure associated with water access, water reliability, the complexities of water supply contracts, and the regulatory landscape that shapes water distribution. The discussion will examine the agencies responsible for managing California’s intricate water infrastructure, the impact of droughts and climate change on supply reliability, and the political and environmental factors influencing water policy. Additionally, the session will touch on emerging solutions such as floodwater capture, desalination, and AI-driven resource management. With water scarcity and wildfire preparedness at the forefront of public concern, this timely presentation will provide attorneys with valuable insights into the evolving legal and policy considerations surrounding California’s most vital resource.

This program is presented by the Real Estate section, co-chaired by Howard N. Gould and Elizabeth Dryden. Find out more about the section at www.bhba.org.
