HOPE 2020
On Monday, January 27 from 10:00pm to 4:00am, the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) will conduct its annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE), a citywide community volunteer effort to count every New Yorker sleeping on the street across the five boroughs during the coldest time of the year. Community Board Application Deadline Extended
New Yorkers who are dedicated to making a difference in their neighborhoods have an extra three weeks to apply to become a Community Board member. The deadline to apply for a Community Board position is now Friday, February 14. If you live, work or go to school in one of Manhattan's 12 community districts, you're eligible! Apply online or complete a paper application (the online application must be completed in one sitting). All applications are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, February 14. Appointments will be announced this spring.
