Water Tanks Provide Many Benefits to Customers

MCWD has built 8 potable water tanks with a total storage capacity of over 11 million gallons. The tanks provide instant access to large amounts of water to help fight fires and meet high water demands on hot summer days. We can pump water into the tanks at night when water use and electrical costs are low, reducing utility bills and allowing us to have smaller, less costly pumps. The tanks are located on high ground, creating water pressure without pumps, saving more electricity as the water flows downhill to customers.

Always Flush Smart

The Marina Coast Water District reminds you to always #FlushSmart.

Generally, you should only flush poo, pee and tp down your toilet, but there are some wipes that have been certified as flushable. If you are not sure, throw it in the trash, not the toilet. Non-flushable items are a common cause of sewer spills and clogs in your home, in public sewer collection pipelines that we maintain, and at the regional sewage treatment plant run by Monterey One Water.
