Explore the Outdoors This Earth Month

Spring has arrived, and Earth Month is the perfect time to get outside and reconnect with nature. With more than 6,000 acres of watershed recreation areas surrounding two reservoirs, there’s plenty to enjoy. From sunrise to sundown, permitted visitors can enjoy areas featuring picnic spots, over 16 miles of shoreline fishing, interior trails for hiking and exploring, boating, horseback riding and more.

Did You Know?

When you’re out exploring on the watershed, you’re also in a space that helps protect your drinking water. The watershed surrounding our reservoirs acts as a natural buffer. WSSC Water allocates $1 million each year to purchase additional land to help expand this water quality protection buffer.

Interested in organizing a watershed cleanup?

We partner with families, groups and organizations of all sizes. Help protect our drinking water sources this Earth Month and throughout the year.

Protect Your Pipes and the Environment - Earth Month and Every Month

Grease and wipes don’t belong in pipes – yours or ours! They create blockages in pipes, leading to messy and expensive basement backups and sewer overflows.

Can it. Cool it. Toss it.

Flush only the three Ps - pee, poop and (toilet) paper.

Need help paying your WSSC Water bill? Nearly 3,000 customers have already received up to $750 in assistance through the Emergency Customer Relief Fund.

Approximately $600,000 remains. Apply today! Assistance is first-come, first-served.
