Another Water Quality Milestone!

Our newly expanded and technologically advanced water quality laboratory is now officially accredited by the Maryland Department of the Environment to test drinking water for PFAS, bringing this important testing capability in-house.

This achievement builds on the $38 million investment in the lab to protect public health and safeguard every sip for our 1.9 million customers in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

The Proposed FYs 2028-2033 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) is approximately $4.7 billion, $134 million less than the Adopted FYs 2027-2032 CIP.

We encourage you to join us and share your feedback during the hearings.

Recreational Water Contact Health Advisory

WSSC Water detected high concentrations of blue-green algae, known as Harmful Algal Blooms, in both of our Patuxent River reservoirs - Triadelphia and Duckett.

Due to these high concentraions, we issued a Water Contact Health Advisory for both bodies of water.

While our drinking water is not affected and continues to meet all Safe Drinking Water Act standards, there are important precautions people should take while spending time around these reservoirs.
