Water Fund

January 9, 2026

Act now, financial help is available!

Our Get Current program has been extended through January, giving eligible customers the opportunity to pay a portion of their balance and have a portion forgiven.

You may also qualify for up to $750 through our Emergency Customer Relief Fund. Don’t delay, funding is first-come, first-served.

Collections outreach to customers with past-due balances began on January 5, 2026, as part of WSSC Water’s extensive outreach efforts to connect customers with financial resources and flexible payment plans to help manage their water/sewer bills before a service disconnection. Late fees were also reinstated at that time.

This extensive, multi-month outreach process includes multiple steps designed to contact customers and provide opportunities to resolve outstanding water/sewer bills before a service disconnection. Customers will receive automated phone calls and mailed notices as part of this outreach. WSSC Water is prioritizing accounts for collections outreach based on the amount owed and delinquency duration.

Following the extensive outreach process, WSSC Water will resume service disconnections for accounts with past-due balances starting on March 1, 2026, for commercial customers and April 1, 2026, for residential customers.

Our Frontline Water Heroes in Action!

December 2025 was our second busiest December in a decade, with our crews responding to 463 water main breaks and leaks, just shy of December 2017’s record of 510. Remember - November thru February are our four busiest months for breaks & leaks… we’re only halfway through the season!

A huge thank you to our teams working tirelessly to keep water flowing to our communities.

If you see a break or leak, please report it anytime 24/7/365:

Putting Care Into Action

Caring and being community-focused are values that guide us as an anchor institution, and Team H₂O kicked off the new year by putting those values into action.

We were proud to join Laurel Mayor Keith R. Sydnor at a community food drop, supporting neighbors and strengthening the community we serve.

Caring for our community isn’t seasonal. It’s who we are. 💙
