Capital Improvements Program Public Hearings

This week, we hosted two public hearings focused on our Proposed FY 2028-2033 Capital Improvements Program. We highlighted the $4.7 billion dedicated for major water and wastewater projects that support our communities. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared comments.

If you couldn’t join us in person or watch the livestream, you can view recordings of the hearings on our website. Visit wsscwater.com/fin and scroll to the CIP section. Written comments are welcome through the end of the day on September 11, 2026.

Need Help With Your Water Bill?

Financial Assistance Is Available

WSSC Water is committed to providing financial assistance to customers to make their water/sewer bills more affordable. Since July 1, 2026, United Way of the National Capital Area has distributed more than $170,000 in assistance to 402 customers, providing critical financial relief to those who need it most.

Established by WSSC Water employees in 1994, the Water Fund provides eligible customers with up to $500 in assistance during a 12-month rolling period. Through United Way, customers can apply online or visit a Financial Empowerment Center in Montgomery or Prince George’s County, where they can also connect with additional financial resources and support.

September is Emergency Preparedness Month

Unexpected events, including power outages and water main breaks, can temporarily disrupt your water service. Emergency Preparedness Month is a good reminder to make sure your household is ready. Start with water. Keep at least one to two gallons of water per person, per day, for a minimum of three days.

And remember to include enough water for your pets, too!

A little preparation now can make a big difference when the unexpected happens.
