Imperial Work Update

Work started this week with scrapers moving lots of dirt at the Imperial Wildlife Area’s Wister Unit’s W11A&C. Efforts are constructing new levees, swales and islands that will be ready for this fall’s migration. Salt cedar removal continues throughout W11 and will start on W12 soon. The improvements will allow for advanced wetland management practices to be implemented that will increase feed production moving forward.
