Teddy Bear Clinic: Stuffed with Care
The Teddy Bear Clinic was created to help eliminate children's fear of visiting the doctor's office. On Saturday, November 18, 2023, nine of WRC's medical learners hosted the Teddy Bear Clinic at the Guelph Public Library's East Side Branch. The initiative was founded by MD learners in the Niagara Regional Campus. Sukhdeep Bhangal, Pascal Tsai, and Emily Zhang, WRC Class of 2025, wanted to also bring this activity to the region to get children involved in healthcare.
There were numerous stations set up, including primary care, vaccination station, x-ray clinic, and the OR. Children brought in their favourite stuffed animal, or dolls for a check-up at the clinic. This is the third Teddy Bear Clinic held in the region and in combination, we have seen three hundred animals get treated. Click here to read an article in Guelph Today about the Teddy Bear Clinic.
