Hello my book family..
wow, it seems like last month's newsletter was sooooo long ago. It feels like another lifetime. These days are long and hard. We have so many loyal customers, I do get misty eyed when I think about it. There are lots of questions. I want you to know that I hear you. I have questions too. Governor Inslee spoke today and extended our stay-at-home order till May 31st. Retail Businesses are phase 2 of his plan, and I will keep you all up-to-date with what that means for us as those things happen and we get more information. I think it is really important for us to communicate with one another on this. I promise to keep you in the loop, I am hosting a Facebook Live on Wednesday, May 13th at 4pm. You can send questions for our email in advance but maybe we will have more information by then. Our email is

I wish everyone health and happiness during these times. This is stressful for everyone, for you, your families, etc- take time for you.. be kind to one another- we will get through this. Miss you all terribly.

Cards, Journals, Coloring Books, and More

We are all discovering new pastimes during the Stay at Home Order. Many customers tell us they're journaling, writing stories, writing letters, puzzling, coloring--all sorts of fun new things, and we are happy to supply items to help in these new creative endeavors! If anything you see here inspires you, let us know! If you're looking for something a little different, check in with us and we will gladly help you shop for that perfect thing.

Tea With the Boss - 4:00 pm
Brandy will be on Facebook Live answering any and all of your questions! If you're wondering what book orders look like right now, what options are available to you, what is in-store for the upcoming future, what it looks like behind the scenes, what you can do to help, or what we're having for lunch--this is a great opportunity to ask!!! You can submit questions in advance to [email protected], and you can ask questions during the Live Video by typing the question into the comment space and Brandy will answer as they arrive. See you then!!!

by Michael Grimm. Here's what Brandy has to say about this book!

Wow--what a different book than what I expected! It's written by an author who used to live in this area, and it's based on a true crime in Skagit Valley in the 1930s. He uses interviews, articles, and newspapers to make up his "recreation" of what those events looked like. The story begins with a drifter coming into this family's lives and fully integrating himself there. Then horrible things start to happen. This book is surprising and sad and haunting.
