Welcome to your monthly update from Watermark Book Company!

Below, you'll find what's new in the store, upcoming events,

book reviews, and more!

Hello to all of my happy readers!

July has been really lovely. Family fun and lots of growth. This is the very busy season for both my hubby and me. We just try to prioritize our time.

We are doing a ton of hiking. We are watching good movies together

in the evenings and laughing a lot.

Amberly, Janet, and I spent the 4th of July together. Ben had to work. We hiked Sugarloaf and then Mount Erie—by the end we were truly exhausted!

We met new friends on the trail. It was a good time.

Afterward we had a girls' night and a sleepover.

At the top of Mount Erie. I love the view.

This will be a wild month for us. Amberly is getting married at the end of August,

so forgive us for our crazy! Haha. We are so excited for our squirel.

The shop will have some limited hours for the wedding,

so please take a look at our upcoming events for that.

My hubby is always sending me pictures of orca whales.

He is a captain for the Washington State Ferries, so he sees them all the time. I am wildly jealous! Haha.

I listened to Home Sick, by Rhiannon Grist. It started out so good and so creepy—

it was all the things—but it went very sideways.

I ended up thinking it was just okay.

I am halfway through The Children, by Melissa Albert.

It is absolutely out of this world. It is sooo good.

I will let you know next month how the end goes.

Janet and I listened to the last Mac B., Kid Spy book, Mac Saves the World.

These books are always good and fun. Janet loves them.

After a lovely customer came in and purchased a copy, I have started listening to Cuisine to Kill For, by Amy Bruni. This book combines recipes with

true crime stories, but for the audiobook, they just read the true crime bits.

It's very cool how they converted it to an audio version. I'm really enjoying it.

I hope you stay safe and healthy. Happy Reading!

Brandy~

What We're Reading!

We have officially ended bookclub for the time being.

Thank you for understanding! It has been a wonderful several years.

This feature is now officially What We're Reading,

where we'll share a staff recommendation!

This month, Jaycee read A Guardian and a Thief, by Megha Majumdar.

Here's what she thought...

This is the second novel by Majumdar that I've read, and I continue to be impressed.

This novel is set in a not-so-distant future in India where there is a nationally-declared climate crisis. Crops are unable to grow, water comes out of the faucet hot and food is scarce. This book poses the question:

How far would you go to ensure your family has a better future?
