WRP Website is Live!

We are excited to announce that the Waterway Restoration Partnership website is now live! You can access the website at www.mkewaterwaypartners.org and learn everything you want to know about the background of the Milwaukee Estuary, ongoing projects, and upcoming events.

It takes a village to take on water cleanup activities in the area, and we appreciate each and every partner who is part of the Waterway Restoration Partnership. All partners are listed on the website’s 'Partners' page where you can learn in detail about their roles and projects. You can access the Waterway Restoration Partnership website by clicking below.

Environmental Spotlight :
Plastic-Free July

Plastic-free July is an initiative of the Plastic Free Foundation, which aims to address the ever-increasing plastic pollution throughout the world by refusing the use of single-use plastics.

The plastic-free July challenge asks people to avoid using one single-use plastic and start making a difference one-by-one. Millions of people worldwide using reusable bags when shopping can help minimize the use of single-use plastics. We should do it for cleaner streets as well as cleaner waterways, and the collective effort will go a long way.

The Waterway Restoration Partnership supports these initiatives to make our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone to enjoy.

Lincoln Park and Estabrook Park Project

Help us bring back fish and wildlife to Lincoln Park and Estabrook Park!

Share your thoughts by joining us for a virtual community meeting on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. If you are unable to join the meeting, you can share your thoughts by taking a short 10-minute survey.

Join us for a virtual community meeting to:
•   Hear about the effort to restore health to our area’s waterways.
•   Learn about plans to improve fish and wildlife habitat.
•   Tell us how you enjoy the water in Lincoln Park and Estabrook Park.
•   Find out about habitat restoration planning for the Milwaukee River Greenway.

This effort to re-create a habitat where native fish and wildlife can thrive is led by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Milwaukee County Parks. Click here to learn more about the project.
