Senior Earns Eagle Scout Ranking

Congratulations to senior Timothy Govenor, who was recently awarded his Eagle Rank at a Court of Honor at St. Brendan Church. Eagle is the highest rank earned through Boy Scouts of America. In addition to Eagle, he was awarded three Eagle Palms, Bronze, Silver and Gold, for earning 15 Merit Badges beyond the 21 required for Eagle Rank.
For his service project he led a team of volunteers to refurbish the Scioto Run Nature Trail in the Scioto Run Subdivision of Hilliard. His team removed faded and damaged tree information signs and replaced them with new ones. The team also built and added ten birdhouses to attract chickadees, Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Nuthatches and Wrens. Birdhouses were placed for easy observation from the trail or nearby benches for the enjoyment of hikers.

Dance Team Tryouts

Did you know that the Bishop Watterson Dance team works exclusively with The Ohio State Dance team for technique and choreography? What a rare opportunity for our Bishop Watterson team to work with the nine-time national collegiate dance champions!
We are seeking gymnasts, dancers, ice skaters, or athletes to join this new tradition.
Our team provides entertaining performances at athletic, school, and community events. Our choreography is designed to work with all talent levels so formal dance instruction is not required.

May 5 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Tryouts:

Summer Kairos Registration is Open

We are happy to announce that we will offer a Kairos Retreat this summer for our current juniors. We are offering this opportunity for students who are interested in a possible campus ministry leadership role, for students who prefer not to miss school and for multisport athletes. Kairos is a three-and-a-half day optional retreat for seniors. Students say it is a highlight of their senior year. There will also be opportunities to attend Kairos in late September, early February and late March. Dates are listed on the flyer at the button below. Each retreat has limited spots, so it is beneficial to consider now which retreat dates work best based on extracurricular and family commitments.

The retreat provides an opportunity to spend time reflecting on life, getting to know others more deeply and growing in relationship with God. The cost is $275 and a $100 deposit will save a spot for your student on the date of their choice. Scholarships are available through the Brendan Foley Memorial Scholarship Fund. Registration forms, available at the link below, can be sent to Campus Minister Mrs. Beth Simmonds.
