Message from Deacon

The Church dedicates the month of October to Our Lady of the Rosary. I encourage you to take the opportunity to pray the rosary each day this month and beyond. I have been praying the rosary every day for most of my life and it makes all the difference in the world. If you haven't tried praying the rosary daily, give it a try. I have found that it is one of the most powerful prayers for our spiritual growth.

Deacon Chris Campbell '77

Principal

We have rosaries and a Pray the Rosary pamphlet available to students here at school. They can be found in the confessional.

Our Librarian Wrote a Book :)

BWHS Librarian Kelly Meineke has published a handbook for librarians, “The Quick-Start Library Guide” (Bloomsbury Libraries Unlimited). Mrs. Meineke, writing as Kelly Mayfield, with Amy G. Milstead, drew on her experience here at BWHS and at St. Michael. The book has been endorsed by Amanda Jones, 2021 School Librarian of the Year and author of the best-selling book “That Librarian.”

Important Note About Morning Drop Off

Senior College App Help Sessions

Today, Wednesday, October 1, seniors may come to Dominican Hall from 8:00-11:00 a.m. to work on college applications with the support of counselors.

Counselors will be offering drop-in application help throughout the month of October on Wednesdays in the library. Students can drop in during their study hall periods to ask questions and seek help on their college applications.

IMPORTANT Reminders for Seniors

  1. Senior Meeting: Remind your students to sign up for their senior planning meeting with their counselor. Parents are encouraged to attend.
  2. How to Request a Transcript:

  • Add the college to your Common Application (CA) or SCOIR (if the college is not a CA school).

* Once all of these steps are complete, we will be notified of your application, deadline and materials that need to be sent. Counselors are NOT able to send documents until these steps are completed.

Parent Speakers

Do you have flexibility in your schedule to come share your professional experience with our students?  We have two great ways for you to be involved this school year: Our Lunch and Learn Program and the Alternative Career Pathway Event!

Lunch and Learns are held monthly on a specific topic, giving students a brief taste of a career path of interest. The Alternative Career Pathway Event is an evening event for students and families to explore options outside of the typical four-year college path. This year we will be opening the Alternative Career Pathway Event up to other Diocesan schools for more students to take part in the offerings.

Click here if you would like to participate.
