Message from Deacon

Parents,

In just a few days, Pope Leo will canonize two new saints, Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati. They have already begun to be great patrons for young people.

Carlo Acutis, the first Millennial saint, lived from 1991-2006. He had a great interest in technology, learning computer languages and creating websites at the request of his parish and school. While he enjoyed playing Nintendo games such as Mario and Pokemon, he set limits on his own screen time, choosing to focus on his faith, family and service. His great love for the Eucharist led him to create a website to share information about Eucharistic miracles which can still be accessed: https://www.miracolieucaristici.org/

Pier Giorgio Frassati lived earlier in the 20th century, from 1901-1925. St. John Paul II affectionately referred to Pier as the “Man of the Beatitudes” because of how he lived the beatitudes out daily. Fueled by joy, Pier was a young man who sought to bring comfort to those in need, and who was, at the same time, an adventurous community builder who organized groups of friends to go on mountain climbing trips.

I encourage you to learn more at the official websites for these two young saints (Carlo Acutis, Pier Giorgio Frassati) and I pray that through their intercession many of our students will draw closer to Christ and His Church.
