Looking Forward to the 2021-22 School Year
|
|
Dear Parents,
We are excited to get another school year underway at Bishop Watterson and looking forward to seeing your children at the end of the month.
We have been busy planning for 2021-22 over the summer and are currently awaiting direction from the Office of Catholic Schools regarding COVID-19 protocols for the year. We thank you for your patience and will communicate that information as it becomes available. The latest communication from our superintendent can be found here.
Also over the summer, our administrative team has gone through a transition in structure. Guided by the Office of Catholic Schools, Bishop Watterson is moving from a Principal and two Assistant Principals to a Principal and three Vice Principals.
Vice Principal Andrea Pore will oversee student services, including counseling, technology, campus ministry, service and activities. Vice Principal Ryan Schwieterman will oversee operations, including facilities, athletics, development, admissions and communications and marketing. Abby Teeters, who has been an Associate Administrator for the past two years, will take on the role of Vice Principal for academics.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s high school education. We ask for your continued prayers for our students, faculty, staff and the entire Bishop Watterson community.
Deacon Chris Campbell
Principal

Semester Finals Attendance
As you make plans for our various breaks for the 2021-22 school year, please read the following policy from our Student Handbook:
Testing and Absence – Semester Final Exams
Students must be present during all scheduled finals. The only excused absence is one due to extreme illness. A doctor’s note may be required for verification. If a student is ill and needs to reschedule an exam, they must contact Vice Principal Abby Teeters, abteeter@cdeducation.org, for permission and arrangements. Exams will not be rescheduled for vacations, club sports, etc. Absences due to reasons other than illness may result in the student receiving 80% of the grade earned.
Please examine our finals schedule closely and plan vacations accordingly. Inform family members, club coaches, employers, parish leaders working on service trips, retreats, etc. that students are not available until exams are over. Please do not schedule doctor’s appointments, elective surgery, etc. during this time.
Semester Exams:
Monday, December 13 -Thursday, December 16
Senior Final Exams:
Friday, May 20- Wednesday, May 25
Underclassmen Final Exams:
Friday, May 27-Thursday, June 2
