Parents,

I hope you had a peaceful Easter with your families.

We sent surveys to all students and parents yesterday in an effort to continually evaluate how the online learning process is going for everyone. This closure has made our partnership in preparing your children for the next level even more important than ever and your response to this survey will assist us in strengthening that partnership. We all want to make sure our students continue to learn the material and concepts that are expected.

In addition, o ur Assistant Principals have prepared videos for you on several specific topics of interest right now. See the videos below.

AP Webinar
On Thursday, April 16 from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Trevor Packer, Senior Vice President of AP and Instruction, will be hosting a webinar for parents and guardians to share information about this year’s at-home AP Exams and how to help your student prepare. Trevor will be joined by Jane McBride Gates, Provost and SVP, Academic and Student Affairs from Connecticut State Colleges & Universities and Kristin Brandt, AP Live Human Geography teacher from Glenbard West High School.

This webinar will go into detail about the online exams and format, how to prepare at home for them, and it will answer common questions parents and students may have. We encourage parents and their AP students to sit in on this webinar together.

If you are a parent of an AP student, you can register for the webinar at the link below and tune in live with your student(s) on April 16. A recording of the webinar will be available via the registration link after the live event.

Online Learning

Staying Current: Students are required to check PowerSchool and bwhs.org email accounts throughout each school day.

Class Inquiries: If your child has questions about class work, the first point of contact for students is the teacher of the class. Students are expected to take the lead in any communication. Rather than communicating for them, parents can assist students by guiding them in email etiquette (proper salutation, punctuation, grammar, etc.) which we expect. Teachers are checking email regularly.
Click here for our faculty and staff email list.

Technology Questions: Questions about school-assigned laptops and PowerSchool login issues can be emailed to Mr. Forker, mr.forker@bwhs.org or Mr. McManamon, mr.mcmanamon@bwhs.org .
