Welcome to our new faculty members for the 2025-26 school year!

Demetrio Antolini joins us from The Ohio State University where he has been a teaching associate of Italian. A native of Italy, Mr. Antolini holds a Ph.D. in Italian studies from OSU and will be teaching Italian here.

Colleen Barney is teaching Spanish I, Spanish IA and Spanish 1B. She has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a master’s degree in Spanish with an emphasis in pedagogy from Ohio University. Ms. Barney has been teaching Spanish for 20 years at colleges in Ohio, including Columbus State Community College where she most recently served as an adjunct instructor. She has also taught grades pre-K through nine at a Montessori school.

Emily Cody joins the staff full-time this year after serving as a tutor and substitute teacher here last year. This year she is teaching English 11 and British Literature. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and history from Texas Christian University and master’s and doctorate degrees from The Ohio State University in English, where she taught various courses for 10 years.

Julia DeLuca is teaching English 10 and American Literature. She holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated language arts education from The Ohio State University.

Craig Dziewiatkowski recently retired from more than two decades as an Active Duty Naval Officer, during which he taught junior officers and enlisted sailors on business, leadership and operations subjects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science-international relations from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree in financial management from the Naval Postgraduate School. Mr. Dziewiatkowski will be teaching Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Financial Accounting, Business Law and Sports Management. He will also serve as an assistant coach for the boys wrestling team. His daughter, Gianna, is a senior at BWHS this year and his son, Frankie, is a freshman.

Alex Frye ’18 joins the staff full-time this year after serving as a long-term substitute in our art department last school year. Ms. Frye, who holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts with a concentration in drawing and painting from The Ohio State University, will be teaching Art Fundamentals this year.

Doug Grieble will be teaching Biology CPI, Honors Biology and AP Biology. He joins us with 32 years of teaching, most recently at Hilliard Bradley High School. Mr. Grieble holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from The Ohio State University, a master’s in environmental science from Wright State University, and a master’s in teacher leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Logan Haire joins the faculty to teach Theology 10. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music business from Middle Tennessee State University and a master’s in Catholic Theology from St. Meinrad Archabbey and School of Theology. Most recently he taught at St. Patrick Catholic School in Maysville, Ky.

Anthony Honaker will be splitting his time between our social studies and business departments this year, teaching American History, World History CPI and Real Estate and Finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from OSU and joins us from Dublin Coffman High School.

Chris Larsen is teaching choir and beginning guitar. He taught at Ohio Northern University for the past seven years and has nine years’ experience teaching at the high school level before that. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Wartburg College, a master of music in choral conducting from the University of Arizona and a doctorate in musical arts from the University of Texas.

Maggie Musilli is teaching CPI and CPII U.S. History. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Otterbein University.

Sarah Myers joins our math department to teach Algebra I CPI and CPII. Most recently Ms. Myers has been adjunct faculty at Ohio Wesleyan University and she has taught everything from pre-algebra to statistics there and at Columbus State. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and journalism from Franklin College and a master’s in statistics from Miami University.

Andie Pander is teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology, Earth and Space Science, Medical Terminology and Zoology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from The Ohio State University.

John Santagata will serve as an Intervention Specialist in the Dominican Program. He comes to BWHS from Hilliard Darby High School where he was Director of Capstone. Mr. Santagata has 30 years of teaching experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in special education and history from Youngstown State University.

Chloe Sommer is teaching Art Fundamentals, Independent Study: 2D, Film Studies, Drawing and Painting and Mixed Media. She holds a degree in art history and fine arts from Columbus College of Art and Design and spent five years teaching English in South Korea. She joins us from Broadleigh Elementary where she was an Instructional Assistant Librarian.

Tom Woodford is serving as a School Counselor. Mr. Woodford holds a bachelor’s in elementary education from Ohio University and a master’s in education and school counseling from the University of Dayton. He retired from Hilliard City Schools where he was the College Counselor. He spent 19 years as head coach for the Bishop Watterson girls basketball team and his daughters, Taylor ’15 and Paige ’20, are BWHS grads.

Meghan Zuercher will serve as a part-time Intervention Specialist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in integrated language arts from The Ohio State University as well as a teacher leader endorsement from Ohio Dominican University. She taught American Literature and coached softball at Bishop Hartley.

Juniors and sophomores are scheduled to take the PSAT on October 1. An in-person PSAT workshop led by Dr. Lynn Dailey with The ACT/SAT Review will be offered on September 13 from 8:00 a.m.-noon. This workshop is highly recommended for juniors trying to achieve National Merit Scholarship. Click here for more information.

IMPORTANT: ACT Online Testing

If you’ve registered for an upcoming online National ACT test and plan to bring your own device, please note that your Bishop Watterson issued computer will not be compatible for the test. Students are responsible for making sure their personal devices meet the hardware and processing requirements set by ACT. Device requirements can be found by clicking here.

Parents Are Invited to Join Us

One of the efforts to nurture and encourage the spiritual life of our students here at Bishop Watterson is weekly exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Each week, one grade level is assigned to spend some time in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament during Theology class. On Wednesdays, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the chapel at 7:30 a.m. and remains until Benediction at 1:30 p.m.

NCYC 2025 … Pope Leo Live Address

Students interested in attending the National Catholic Youth Conference November 20-22 in Indianapolis are encouraged to apply before Friday, August 29, at noon. The price will increase from $575 to $665 at noon on Friday. A $325 deposit is required by this Friday, August 29. The registration form can be found at the button below.


NCYC offers a powerful encounter with Christ and His Church through inspiring speakers, concerts, interactive exhibits and service opportunities as well as Mass and Eucharistic Adoration. A very special opportunity for NCYC 2025 was just announced: Pope Leo XIV will hold a 45 minute live, online dialogue with those attending. Read more about Pope Leo's virtual address here.

Fall Kairos Registration Open Through September 11

It's time for seniors to register for the Fall Kairos, September 30-October 3. Kairos is a 3½ day experience for seniors which invites them to encounter themselves, others and God in new, meaningful and unexpected ways. Final Forms for All Students

 

Now is a great time to get ahead on completing your student's required paperwork for the school year. All families must complete final forms for each student. These are not just for athletics but include emergency medical information, handbook and technology acceptance and more. Freshman families new to the school need to create an account.
