Message from Deacon Campbell
End of School Year

We have decided to forgo the traditional 90-minute, cumulative final semester exam format for this year. Instead, teachers have the choice whether or not to have an abbreviated end-of-year assessment (again, not a full exhaustive exam). We are also going to follow the same schedule that we use for quarterfinals so that students are not overwhelmed with more than two tests in one day.

Seniors
The last day of instruction for seniors will be  Friday, May 15 . If a senior has an A in the course (both full-year and semester classes) they would normally be exempted from the final exam. We are going to extend this privilege to them for any assessment teachers might be planning to give that last week.

Test Calendar for seniors who do not have an A in the course (subjects modified due to AP test schedule during this week):
Monday, May 11: Math and World Language
Tuesday, May 12: English and Social Studies
Wednesday, May 13: Theology and Science
Thursday, May 14: Non-core A (Music, Health, PE, Ind. Art, Social Studies Electives)
Friday, May 15: Non-core B (Business, Art, Computer Science, English Electives)

Grades 9-11
The last day of instruction for underclassmen will be  Friday, May 22 .

Test Calendar for underclassmen:
Monday, May 18: Math and Social Studies
Tuesday, May 19: English and World Language
Wednesday, May 20: Theology and Science
Thursday, May 21: Non-Core A (Music, Health, PE, Ind. Art, Social Studies Electives)
Friday, May 22: Non-core B (Business, Art, Computer Science, English Electives)

We plan to leave the week of May 26-29 for locker clean out procedures and textbook turn in (more guidelines and logistics will be forthcoming).
Eagle Gala DAYS OF GIVING

Due to COVID-19, the Eagle Gala has been replaced with two virtual Days of Giving where proceeds will be matched by generous donors up to $20,000. While the long-term effects of the pandemic are an unknown at this time, we anticipate a greater need for tuition assistance for 2020-21. If you are able to give at this time, we encourage you to double your donation on May 3 and May 4. All funds from this event will benefit families in need of tuition assistance and the Dominican Program. Donate at the button below.
Celebrating Seniors

May 1 has traditionally been a day to celebrate our seniors' college choices at Bishop Watterson. Since we will not be in school for the seniors to have a dress down day to wear their college gear, we still want to recognize their hard work! Seniors are asked to email a photo of themselves in their college gear to Mrs. Mar, cmar@cdeducation.org AND Ms. Teeters, abteeter@cdeducation.org by this Thursday, April 29.

Innovative College Meetings

Our College Admissions zoom meetings were the first of their kind! Reps from The Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve, University of Dayton, Miami University, Xavier University, University of Kentucky and the University of Alabama shared information to help our juniors plan for the college admissions process.
Parking for 2020-21

NOTE: When completing the parking form, if you have incoming freshmen in your carpool you will not be required to enter an ID#.

Worth Repeating
Keep Pandemic Prayers Going

Each school day morning we post our traditional prayer for that day on our social media accounts. In the evening we post about a patron saint, asking for intercession for us during this time. These prayers can also be found on a special page on our website, along with other faith-related resources and pandemic communication and links.
