HOLIDAY TIPS FROM PWP
As you decorate your home, make sure to follow these tips from PWP to ensure you have a safe and efficient holiday season:

  • Don't overwork your extension cord. Splurge on heavy-duty extension cords that are listed for outdoor use. To avoid overloading, only link five strings of lights together before plugging them into an extension cord.
  • Go “green” by upgrading your holiday string lights to LEDs; they use 90% less electricity than typical, incandescent lights.
  • When putting up your outdoor lights, consider their placement; shorten or lengthen the cords to make sure the plugs are away from the sprinkler’s water path.
  • Use an automatic timer for all your lighting, both indoors and out. You’ll remove the burden of having to turn the lights on and off while saving money on your electric bill.
PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR SPRINKLERS WHEN IT RAINS
PWP thanks you for doing your part to reduce your water use and embrace conservation as a “Way of Life”. Did you know outdoor irrigation makes up over 50% of a home’s water use? During the next few wet months, let the rain take care of your watering needs! Turn off your sprinklers when it rains, and utilize a rain barrel to capture rainwater for your future irrigation needs.

Don't have a rain barrel yet? PWP offers a rebate of $100 for residential customers who purchase up to two rain barrels. To learn more, visit our Save Water page.
'TIS THE SEASON TO GET AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Considering an electric vehicle? The end of the year is a perfect time to look for discounted savings on your favorite EVs and take advantage of available tax credits! PWP's Electric Vehicle page has a variety of resources to help you choose the right vehicle for you and your family. Compare EVS by specific features , view a comprehensive list of every EV available , find local charging stations, and much more.

Additionally, PWP provides information on the available federal, state, and local EV incentives, including the $7,500 federal tax credit and the $1,500 - $2,500 incentives from the state program. To learn more, visit our Electric Vehicle Page.
DONATE TO PROJECT A.P.P.L.E. AND HELP A CUSTOMER IN NEED
Rough times can hit any of us. This winter, consider donating to Project A.P.P.L.E. (Assisting Pasadena People with Limited Emergencies), a program that provides a one-time credit of up to $100 to help low-income residential electric customers keep their lights on.

This vital program is made possible through the voluntary donations by the Pasadena community. Make a contribution of any amount by checking the box on your next PWP bill and including your donation with your payment, by sending a separate check, or by donating online with PayPal. Visit our Project A.P.P.L.E. page to learn more about how you can donate, or if applicable, how you can participate.
