Spotlight on Safety: Wildfire Preparedness

During critical fire weather conditions or a Red Flag warning, LPEA takes proactive measures to ensure everyone's safety.

What does this mean for you?

  • Potential Power Outages: Due to the heightened risk of wildfires, LPEA will adjust its operations. This may result in longer or more frequent power outages in some communities, but LPEA does not pre-emptively disconnect power as part of these adjustments.
  • Enhanced Safety Protocols: LPEA will implement advanced fire safety protocols. Our electric infrastructure is equipped to detect and de-energize in case of any potential fire hazard, such as downed power lines.
  • Community Support: While outages can be disruptive, your safety and the protection of our community are our top priorities.

While outages may disrupt routines, we prioritize safety for our members. Stay updated with outage alerts on our website and social media. If you haven't signed up for our free outage texting service, you can do so below.

Manage Your Energy Use During Vacation Season

As summer heats up and vacation plans take shape, many of us wonder how to manage our electric usage while away from home. To optimize your energy savings during extended absences, we recommend:

  • Adjusting your thermostat conservatively to reduce cooling demands.
  • Unplugging non-essential appliances and electronics that won't be in use.

Additionally, if you'll be away for an extended period, please notify our billing department to arrange for bill forwarding to your temporary address. You can find the reading dates for your billing cycle printed on your bill, and for any questions or assistance, please call us at (970) 247-5786.

Enjoy a worry-free summer knowing that LPEA is here to support you with energy-saving tips and reliable service. Have a fantastic Fourth of July and safe travels!
