After thirty years of  exemplary service with  the Waukegan Park District, our Executive Director Greg Petry will be retiring this Friday, June 30th. We wish Greg a happy retirement and thank him for his great contributions to the Waukegan Park District and the Waukegan community!

  
NEW LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS
Executive Director 

Jay Lerner has been appointed as our new Executive Director. Jay has been with the Waukegan Park District since September 1998 when he started as a Recreation Specialist for Youth Athletics. He was promoted to Recreation Supervisor of Athletics in 1999, Manager of Sports and Fitness in 2010, and Superintendent of Recreation in 2013. Congratulations, Jay!

 
Superintendent of Parks

Scott MacLean has been appointed as our new Superintendent of Parks. Scott has been with the the Waukegan Park District since 1995 as the Manager of Park Maintenance where he was responsible for 11 full-time and more than 38 seasonal staff working throughout the 48 park sites. He has coordinated numerous routine park maintenance, repairs and construction. Congratulations, Scott!

 
Superintendent of Recreation

Errick Beverly has been appointed as our new Superintendent of Recreation. Errick has worked with the Waukegan Park District since 2010. Throughout his career at the Waukegan Park District, Errick has been responsible for the recruitment, management, and success of local, regional, and national tournaments at the Field House and the SportsPark generating tourism revenues of approximately $15 million annually. Congratulations, Errick!

Happy Birthday, America and Waukegan Park District! Celebrate America and the Waukegan Park District's Centennial Birthday.

  

The American Independence Parade and Centennial Festival are sponsored by many local businesses and citizens whose support ensures an exciting and fun event. A special thank you is extended to Vista Health System, Advanced Disposal, and Judge Charles Smith for their long time support.
  
Arts, crafts, and games are coming to your neighborhood park! In celebration of the Waukegan Park District's 100th Anniversary, there will be 100 Arts Park programs this summer! Every weekday at 10am and 6pm, the Arts Park van will be parking at different parks throughout the Waukegan Park District. Download the complete schedule here.
