Wave Season Continues…
We hope the new year is off to a wonderful beginning for all of you!
Our 2024 began with two Caribbean cruises. The first was a 5-Day Virgin Voyages cruise on the Scarlett Lady. Virgin Voyages is unique in many ways, but some of the most notable are these: first, there are no children as the minimum age is 18. Second, there is no main dining area; instead, there are over 20 individual facilities where guests can enjoy a wide array of food. One area is like a gigantic food court, and even here, guests can be served by the staff. The adventure includes a pajama party, which sets the tone for the entire cruise. The clientele is primarily in the younger to middle-aged crowd, though there were also a fair number of seniors. We found the food and service to be outstanding, and the ship was beautiful. We know many of you have not tried Virgin Voyages, so we encourage you to give it a try.
Our second cruise was on the Celebrity Apex, the most beautiful ship we have ever sailed. We appreciated the lack of an enormous main dining room as the Apex has four smaller, unique dining rooms with many other dining areas, not including the specialty restaurants, which are all excellent. Again, we found the food and service to be outstanding, even better than what we have experienced on other Celebrity ships. The Apex “Edge Class” ship has many unique design features throughout, with extensive attention to detail. The “Edge Class” ships have a very different vibe than those in the rest of the Celebrity fleet. We believe you would enjoy a cruise on one of them, so contact us, and we’ll see which ships might work in your timeframe.
On one of our Baltic cruises, we sailed into Tallinn, Estonia, a small city that has thoroughly embraced its freedom from the old U.S.S.R. Replete with a plethora of shops, restaurants, museums, and art galleries, the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, reverberates with vibrant energy. The upbeat people who live here stand in marked contrast to the dour lot who live next door in St. Petersburg, Russia. Whether you choose to visit on a land tour or cruise, we recommend putting Tallinn on your bucket list. We can help make this wonderful city a reality. In other travel news, Globus is offering savings of $1000 per couple up to March 2, 2024, on select Europe tours. Paul Gaugin Cruises is offering Bonus Savings of up to 30% on 2024 voyages, and American Cruise Lines is offering free airfare and savings of up to $1500 on its all-inclusive sailings.
Yes, Wave Season continues for a few more weeks, with the cruise lines offering various incentives to its clients, and now is the perfect time to plan summer vacations!
