With a positive turn in Maryland caseloads and positivity rate, Governor Hogan announced this week his lifting of the statewide order for residents to wear masks when outdoors. The Governor still urges Marylanders to remain cautious and sensible with all interactions, but noted revised guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in making his announcement. Some jurisdictions have elected to retain local orders, citing their own local metrics. Meanwhile, vaccinations continue to expand, and the State announced resumption of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, reinstated after a pause and now accompanied by a user warning of certain rare side effects.
