DUE WEST
Later today I am heading west with Lisa and Max and the rest of her family for a vacation in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I can't explain my excitement for this experience. I want to extend my deepest gratitude for the MANY people who are doing so much in my absence to ensure that our programs all continue and go off without a hitch.
SH Mission Trip families we are still looking for help with coffee hour on Sunday after our 10AM worship service. Please contact Nicole at nthoma24@kent.edu if you are able to help or bring something. We are asking all of our SH Mission Trip participants to wear their golden shirts on Sunday. Everyone should BE THERE BY 9AM for a run through.
JH Mission Trip students and families....we need your help. Please sign-up to volunteer at our Dog Wash or Dirty Dog 5K next Saturday and please invite at least 5 people to sign-up for the race and walk.
I hope all of you will be able to be in worship on Sunday. Our High School students will be leading us in worship and sharing memories and experiences from their trip to New Orleans earlier this summer. Big thanks to Tim Schulz for his incredible video production abilities. We are truly blessed.
Our JH Mission Trip is leaving for Cincinnati next Sunday. 30 Jr. High students and eight adults will be spending a week at Washington U.C.C. helping with their summer children's program. Please keep all of them in your prayers as they prepare for this incredible experience.
I am grateful for so many incredible people that care about our young people and care about our church so much.

SH MISSION TRIP HOSTING COFFEE HOUR ON JULY 12th:
On Sunday, July 12th at our 10AM worship service, our SH Mission Trip students and adults will be leading us in worship. We are looking for parents to donate baked goods, fruits, bagels and other treats for coffee hour that morning. We are also looking for parents to help host coffee hour that day. BRUNCH ON THE BEACH CANCELLED:
We will NOT have SH Brunch on the Beach this Sunday. Our next one is scheduled for Sunday, July 26th.
DOG WASH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are looking for several awesome people to volunteer to help out at this year's Dog Wash. This event requires many, many amazing people to keep it running smoothly. If you are interested you can sign-up

DIRTY DOG 5K & 1-MILE DOG WALK REGISTRATION OPEN NOW: Join us on Saturday July 18th for our annual Dirty Dog 5K & 1-Mile Dog Walk. The race and walk will begin at 10AM in front of the church. All proceeds from this race support our youth mission trips. For more information and to register online click HERE.
DIRTY DOG 5K PACKET PICK-UP: On Friday, July 17th from 4:30PM - 6:30PM we will have our racer and walker packet pick-up at Buffalo Wild Wings in Avon Lake. Stop by and get your shirt, racer number and more.
DOG WASH VOLUNTEER SHIRTS: IF you are volunteering for this year's Dog Wash or Dirty Dog 5K, we have a very limited supply of volunteer shirts available for $8 each. Please contact Nicole at nthoma24@kent.edu if you would like one.
SH DAY AT CEDAR POINT: All youth who recently completed the 8th grade through youth who recently completed the 12th grade are invited to join us on Tuesday, July 21st for a day at America's RollerCoast, Cedar Point. Sign-up today by emailing nate@avonlakeucc.org. Tickets are only $35 each. The last day to sign-up is Sunday, July 19th.
