National Speech-Language-Hearing Month

Speech-language therapy is a specialized form of treatment aimed at diagnosing and treating communication disorders, as well as improving speech, language, and swallowing abilities. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work with individuals of all ages, from infants to older adults, who may have difficulties with speech, language, voice, fluency (stuttering), or swallowing.
