Week Two:

Our world values productivity and efficiency. We are taught that our worth is based on what we make, how much we have, and how we use our time. But who determines the definitions of productivity and worth? God does not call us to balance productivity and rest. God calls us to refuse to be part of a culture of production.

This week’s scriptures (Deuteronomy 5:13-15; Mark 6:31-32) dwell on God’s appreciation of rest as a strategy for abundant living and fighting the powers that be.

CHILDREN IN WORSHIP

Children are always welcome in worship! Worship bags and a sensory library with quiet activities are in the foyer. Childcare is also available for infants – PK in Room 50.

Grandparents and parents, your little ones may want to begin in the Sanctuary, stay through Moments for Children, then go to Room 50 for the rest of worship.

We cherish your children, as if they were our own!

CENTERING PRACTICES

Jesus often sought quiet places to pray. Likewise, you can find stillness for contemplative prayer in the Bride’s Room on Sundays, 9:45 – 10:30 a.m. In contemplative prayer, we practice setting aside our individual desires to listen for the desire God places on our hearts. All are welcome.

PICKIN’ AND PRAYIN’ GUITAR CIRCLE

Musicians, connect with your guitar (or other stringed instrument), God, and others this Sunday, September 21. Bring your instrument to the Parlor at noon. Music is provided.

JustUs MEETING

This civic engagement group meets in the Bride’s Room this Sunday at noon. All are welcome!

YOUTH GROUP (GRADES 7-12)

Don't miss out on Youth Group for grades 7-12! We'll meet every Sunday in the Youth Lounge from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

It's a great time to connect, have fun, and grow together. See you there!

CARE LETTERS

This Sunday, take a moment after worship to sign care letters, located at the Welcome Desk in the foyer.

It’s a tangible way to demonstrate love for our NorthPark friends and family.
