Next Generation Academy (Elementary) Greensboro NC
  • In search of a dedicated one on one volunteer for a specific child who is in need of special attention. Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm  
  • Tutor volunteers any day Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm  
  • Greeter & Attendance Volunteer- Ideal time would be from 5:00 pm to 6:16 pm Monday through Friday. 


AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORS NEEDED FOR REFUGEE STUDENTS ages 6-18!
  • Get to know a student and family in this unique After School Tutoring program taking place at the home of students! You get to tutor once per week (or more if you wish) for 1 to 2 hours between 3:00 and 7:00pm Monday through Friday, scheduled at your convenience. Training and on-going support provided. This is a great way to impact newly arrived refugee families and assist the children in finding success in schools!


KOLIBRI TABLET LAB INTERNS and VOLUNTEERS 
  • Needed to manage group of tablets while tutoring newly arrived refugee and immigrant adults during weekday mornings or youth in afternoons.

GED Testing Prep
  • Help a student (New Arrivals Institute client) who is studying for the General Education Diploma (GED) tests which include Math, Reasoning through Language Arts (reading/writing), Social Studies, and Science. NAI provides study materials. Tutoring would take place at a Public Library or at NAI site.













Great Need for Warehouse and Deliver Volunteers!
Warehouse- Groups of 10-15 people are needed the 3rd Friday and Saturday of every month.
These volunteers will help to package donated food and basic needs items to be delivered to homebound seniors who have great need.

Delivery Drivers-
Who can volunteer? O rganizations, businesses, clubs, groups, families, singles, or couples can volunteer. You can even take your pet (if they are well behaved.) Once a month during the distribution, normally the third week of the month, you pickup food from the warehouse and deliver it to your assigned participant(s).

Looking for volunteers with experience and without!
  • Sidewalkers: For ages 14 & up, these volunteers work directly with riders and horses during lessons. Your responsibility is helping riders with balance and reinforcing instructions during the lessons. As a sidewalker you are constantly aware of the riders and their safety when mounting, riding and in the arena. No horse experience necessary.
Next orientation/ training:
February 11 th 9-11 am

  • Leaders: For ages 16 & up, these volunteers work with horses to ensure safety and flow in a therapeutic class. Experience is required! 

Disaster and Caseworker volunteers needed!
Service to the Armed Forces Caseworkers assist with the full range of client services to military members, veterans and their families, to include: emergency communications; information and referral; access to financial assistance; and family follow-up services. This is a critical role to serve our military community during times of need. *Commitment: 5-8 hours/week

Disaster Duty Officers dispatch the Disaster Action Team when disasters like home fires, impact our community. They ensure the Disaster Action Teams respond in a timely manner and that appropriate resources are available to help people in need.
 *Commitment: On-call once a week from 7am – 7pm or 7pm – 7am; 2-4 Shifts/month

*Volunteers must have access to a computer for remote opportunities

Market Ambassadors and Event Volunteers!
Market Ambassadors are needed to assist with greeting customers are Market doors, handing out flyers, answer questions and being a friendly face for customers!

Event Assistants - help with serving food, cleanup, and assisting event staff as needed (food service experience helpful but not required, fast learners a plus!)
