DIY Is A Success!

We had been discussing doing longarm machine rental [DIY Longarming] for years. We never did it because we were too busy doing longarming services ourselves.

The move to Indiana provided some planning time. We decided to hit the ground running, as it were, offering both longarming services and DIY Longarming.

When we "hit the ground" it was more like a crawl. We had planned one week for Brad and Peter to build out our longarming studio. One week was planned to get thing physically in order. The third week was devoted to getting the two longarms delivered and set up. The fourth week was dedicated to running the machines and getting advertising set up with NorthWest Indiana Times.

The NWI Times advertising worked well and within a short time we had both longarm service [where we run the machines] and DIY [where they run the machines] customers.
Brenda was one of the "DIYers", as we call them. She has come in four different times for four different quilts. She even has access to a family free-motion longarm, for free.

The first quilt she brought in was because it was too big for the family longarm. The second and third were because she wanted complex pattern that she could not do free-motion. The fourth was because she needed it quickly and she completed her 74" x 74" quilt in one and a half hours.
We trust this has been informative.
Enjoy your blessings!
At Forever In Stitches our goal is to further the art of quilting and longarming.
