Mothers' Day Weekend Closure
We will be closed on Saturday, May 13, 2017 to enjoy Mothers' Day weekend with family. We trust that you will have a wonderful Mothers' Day weekend, too!
Sauder Village Quilt Show
Ruth and some of her quilting friends enjoyed the one beautiful day last week visiting the 41
st Annual Quilt Show at Sauder Village. There was so much to see there and enjoy, in addition to the camaraderie.
Quilting is beauty born from a combination of ideas, inspiration, and creativity. At the quilt show she appreciated the wide variety of techniques from traditional to modern. She noted the examples of her longarming on display and that the show seems to be moving away from its favoritism toward hand quilting to include machine and longarming and the inclusion of non-juried quilts.
Ruth had her right knee scoped at the end of February. She did quite well and only needed a few visits to physical therapy. She has continued her improvement and no longer needs aids such as canes, but standing all day at the longarms does wear her out. Our thanks to Dr. Davidson.
I had a total left knee replacement on April 11. I have gotten all of my flexibility back, but I am still working on being able to straighten it all the way. I am using a cane, but I've not progressed to assist Ruth on the longarms. Our thanks to Dr. McDonald.
Choice of Wide Backing Getting Wider
Our selection of wide backing has grown to 80 bolts!
We have also taken the unusual step of ordering a baby blue and a baby pink, solid color 45" bolts for baby quilts. We just couldn't find any good baby blue and pink in wide backing - but then, how wide do backs need to be for baby quilts!
The baby pink is now in stock.
