Spotlight on Staff
Erin Heyl is our newest Youth Community Librarian with a focus on ages 6-14. Erin works with students and educators throughout Deschutes County and loves facilitating book clubs, reading groups, and story times right in your classroom! She can also provide book lists, support for homework and assignments, reserve books for a specific topic, and more. Fill out a Teacher Request Form and let her know how she can help.
Calling All Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Advisors
Do you or someone you know run a GSA (SAGA, Prism, Spectrum, or other) club? Community Librarians Erin and Meagan have been working with local middle and high school GSA clubs to learn more about how we can support LGBTQIA+ students. They would love to visit your club this year to hear more from students and share great new book recommendations and free library swag. If your students are interested, they can also host Prism or Reading Rainbow book clubs during your meetings too.

Middle school advisors can reach Erin here.
High school advisors can reach Meagan here.
The Solar Eclipse is Coming
The 2023 annular solar eclipse is happening Saturday, October 14. While we have some great programs happening at the library to celebrate, our librarians would also love to connect with you and your students in the classroom! Fill out the Teacher Request Form or email Youth Community Librarian Josie to connect.
