Dear Friends:

SINE DIE! That means the legislative session is over. We are all exhausted.

You will receive a much more detailed email from me in a few days, with information on what happened in the 2023 regular session, the budget, investment in teachers and infrastructure, insurance, culture war bills, and more.

Some quick points on my busy and successful session, which you can see more about on my instagram or facebook pages:

(1) I passed bipartisan gun safety legislation, which passed without a single nay.

(2) I passed two bills that will significantly help with quality of life issues in New Orleans (more to come).

(3) I passed legislation to help restore our coast.

(4) I continued to push and educate my colleagues on ballot initiatives and medical marijuana.

(5) I fought for and defended reproductive and LGBT rights, repeatedly.

(6) I invited the internationally known, homegrown Juvenile to the Capitol, the first ever rapper/hip-hop artist recognized by the Louisiana House for his contributions to Louisiana and the world.

(7) I posted a bunch of reels to educate people on what the legislature does and some behind the scene looks!

Thank you for always supporting me. I am asking that you contribute to my re-election campaign, or to sign up to volunteer, so that we can continue this practical and progressive work for the next four years in Baton Rouge.

If you want to continue to have an experienced, successful, progressive representative who lives in District 91 and loves her home state of Louisiana, I'm it!

So happy to recognize Juvenile for all of his work putting New Orleans on the map!

New Huey Long bobble head! An appropriate end to my first term as a Louisiana legislator.
