WE ARE BUSY PREPARING FOR SPRING

Although we are in the middle of winter with snow and ice in the forecast, we are already quite busy preparing for spring. This winter work is crucial, laying the groundwork for a flourishing spring and summer. With the damp, dark days encouraging moss growth, we're treating the moss while also finishing leaf cleanup and winter pruning. Soon, after prepping the shrub beds, we'll apply pre-emergent weed control. Seasonal color beds will get a refresh, and a protective fungicide application will keep them thriving through these wet days. Finally, shrubs and groundcovers will receive a nourishing fertilizer as needed. It's a lot to pack into winter, but it's work that ensures a vibrant landscape come spring!

WINTER TURF MOSS CONTROL

To combat the tenacious moss encouraged by our dark, wet winters, we recommend biannual treatments: once in December/January and again in March/April. This consistent approach effectively suppresses moss growth, allowing your grass to flourish.

WINTER PRUNING

Summer pruning prioritizes managing burgeoning new growth, while winter's focus shifts to structural shaping and rejuvenation. These targeted efforts lay the groundwork for a vigorous spring growth spurt.

SHRUB BED CLEAN-UP

To ensure pristine shrub beds throughout the spring and summer, we apply a pre-emergence treatment before weed seeds have a chance to germinate. This proactive approach effectively prevents weeds from taking root and keeps the beds weed-free through the summer.

WINTER PANSY MAINTENANCE

Thanks to our mild winter, most pansies are doing quite well. However, weeds are growing and general debris is collecting in these areas so our team is tackling these minor blemishes through weeding and cleaning. Beyond surface beauty, we prioritize their health with monthly fungicide treatments, an invisible shield against lurking diseases. This proactive care stands in stark contrast to neighboring gardens where pansies might be diseased and declining.

Remember, these vibrant pansies are a testament to attentive observation, meticulous maintenance, and proactive disease prevention. We're committed to keeping them blooming beautifully throughout the season.

WINTER SHRUB FERTILIZATION

Many lawns, shrubs, and trees benefit from winter fertilization, so we are applying fertilizer where it is needed.

During these cold, wet months, it isn't always pleasant to be outdoors. However, it's an important time for us to prepare your landscape, ensuring its beauty and health flourish when warmer days arrive.
