Greetings Families of FUUSB,
This May we explore the theme "Nurturing Beauty", and we are nurturing something truly beautiful as we build back our community and connection to each other this spring, a connection that was never broken but did perhaps wear thin in these pandemic years. I am overjoyed to have reconnected with so many of you in recent weeks, even those who I couldn't quite place after two years of growing and with masks on your faces. Covid is still with us, sickening some, and frustrating many attempts to be together as we wait out our sniffles and our days since exposure, and yet we are doing it, not simply returning to our old ways but building new traditions as we go.
Above you see the high school YUUth group helping to spread compost on what will be our native plants garden. As I write this, these same youth are braving some cold winds to be at a campfire together at Rockpoint, one of their new traditions, one that eighth graders are now invited to share as the Coming of Age Outdoor Intensive has it's kickoff on Sunday afternoon.
If you haven't made it back to a worship service, a Faith Development class, or an outdoor coffee hour, know that you are welcome to join us whenever you're ready to experience this beauty that we can only nurture together!
In Faith,
Erika
