CONGRATULATIONS TO ANDREA BYRD
CONGRATS TO OUR 2020 WOMAN OF DISTINCTION-- Andrea Byrd!!!

Andrea Byrd, her husband Jerry and their son (23) and twin daughters (17) have lived in The Woodlands since 1995. Getting involved comes easily for Andrea whether she was her children’s Room Mom (12 consecutive years!), or volunteering in the community. She has been a volunteer with the Montgomery County Women’s Center since 2013 when her friend and new event chair, Ally Seder, asked if she would be on the event committee for the 2013 WineFest. Andrea jumped at the chance to use her decorating skills somewhere besides her kids classrooms!

Since 2013, Andrea volunteered with the WineFest committee, and then the MCWC event committee for the inaugural “Not a Gala – Gala” in 2017. She has volunteered on the annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony Event Committee from 2017-2019, and will continue to volunteer in 2020. In January 2017 Andrea began serving on the Agency's Board of Directors, which she will tell you is “a little out of my comfort zone, I’m not going to lie!” However, doing so has solidified her dedication to the Women’s Center through the realization of the staggering number of women and children in domestic violence and sexual assault situations.

As Andrea’s children grew – one has already left the nest! - she knew she needed to do something and began a window covering/design business partnering with her close friend of many years Robin Dye, and D&B Design Elements was born! Together they are a hard working team with numerous vendors and contractors, committed to bringing creative and beautiful solutions to their clients’ needs.

Andrea considers her family the work she’s most proud of - “Happiness is when you realize your children are turning out to be good people”.
