We Are Penn-Delco Proud

While we will be offering updates separately each month to help you navigate the year (look for an email next week), we will also be delivering wonderful examples of how our students, staff and community make us proud to be members of the Penn-Delco School District. Cultivated from teachers, coaches, administrators and residents, here are a handful of examples of what has made us proud in this first month of in-person learning in our Penn-Delco buildings.

Pennell Elementary Celebrated their first week back to school with not only a Spirit Day but also their first PBIS Assembly. We are #penndelcoproud of these wonderful students who not only demonstrated their enthusiasm for Pennell but practiced healthy social distancing and masking to keep each other safe indoors. Way to go Pennell Elementary!

Let's GOOOOO! Our volleyball team continues to dominate this season with a current record of 12 and 1. A great new coaching staff and the same indomitable spirit from last year. Proud of our volleyball athletes this fall season!

Thank you to all of our teachers and building principals for their informative and successful string of virtual Back to School Nights in September. A special congratulations to all of our new teachers exemplified by Miss Sola, our new Special Education Teacher at Parkside Elementary, on their FIRST Back to School Night. Welcome!

Some of the high school performers for the Sun Valley Theater Cabaret prepare for their October 7 Cabaret Welcome Back Broadway spanning traditional and contemporary music from the music theater stage. Congratulations to all of our performers who will be participating in the Cabaret on Thursday at Northley Middle School Auditorium.

International Dot Day celebrates creativity, courage and collaboration and champions using talents, gift and energy to move the world to a better place. Inspired by the children's book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, first grade students in Mrs. S's class at Coebourn Elementary created their own dots representing their own abilities and dreams to "make their mark". We are inspired by their creativity and self-confidence!

There's pride on our football field with a handful of wins in September. Congratulations to our entire team of athletes and coaches whose grit and commitment make us proud.

Faculty at Aston Elementary prepare for the first day by creating inspirational messages of encouragement and hope for their students. We are #penndelcoproud of our empathetic and compassionate staff in this new academic year.

Our award-winning marching band continues to practice, practice, practice to not only to support and entertain at our football games, but to compete regionally through the end of this year. They have two first place finishes in the American Open division thus far. We are proud of their continued hard work and accomplishments.

That time Pat Brees made a hole-in-one on the 18th hole, Par 3, 164 yards. . . WOW!

On September 21 as world leaders met at the United Nations in New York, our elementary students, including these from Aston Elementary, honored International Peace Day to remind their community that peace starts in school, in the home, and in the community. Wishing you all peace in this new school year.

A BIG #penndelcoproud thank you to all of the families, students, teachers and staff who joined us for Brookhaven Family Day on September 25! We were thrilled to help everyone show their pride in their community, school district, and talents. We look forward to attending the Community Day in Aston on October 2!
