"When I needed a hand, I found your Paw"
We Are Straydog is a series to make your week a bit more Wagtastic as we share stories from the shelter.
I seriously must be one of the luckiest dogs! Last year in May, I found myself big bellied, tottering and about ready to burst, when I was left at Morton Small Animal Clinic in Athens. By some miracle I landed at Straydog, where they named me Marcy. Just a few days after my arrival I gave birth to 11 puppies on Mother's Day. Do you see that picture of me and my babies in the top left? I sure do miss those little ones, but am so lucky that each one of them is living the life they deserve in a great home, being spoiled and loved. A huge thanks to Operation Kindness for their partnership in helping my babies find those homes! At only 3-years-old and now spayed, I'm looking for my lucky home to be spoiled too! I'm a Catahoula mix, which has a long history of being even tempered and intelligent. I'm such a friendly young lady, I rarely find someone or another dog that I don't get along with. As a previous mama I'm able to get along with kids, help run out some energy and overall become one of their and your best friends, after all I do like a lot of attention! It has been quite the ride here at Straydog, becoming one of the favorites and stealing hearts with my babies and my personality! David has taken me to several adoption days and people always love my coat and come over to pet me, but no one has picked me. I'm ready to be picked and be the perfect part of your family! In the meantime, I know how lucky I am to have this amazing family and place here to call home for now.
2018 is all about exposure and showing off our amazing pups so they can find forever homes and we can save more! We're open to suggestions, connections and contacts for restaurants, locations or events where we can meet the public, let us know if you have any input!
We can always use extra hands at all Adoption Days, but especially for the Auto Show and RV Show. Please email Linda, straydogshelter@gmail.com if you can offer a few hours!
We need your help to make this evening a HUGE success!
