“There, he tested them.”

~Exodus 15.25

Tests are not just for school  Tests and trials are a part of this life we lead! We can know intellectually that tests are good for us. We understand they are to see if we have the right ideas and answers to the questions that confront us.

But the tests of life, the tests God may send our way are a little more daunting! And the results are a little more drastic if we fail. Often the outcome of moral testing is just between God and us. But we know, and we carry with us the guilt if we fail, or the confidence if we are successful in passing that test.

During this Lenten season, look back at the times God has tested you. See God’s faithfulness that no matter what the test shows, God loves you as much as ever. Consider the lessons and the goodness that has come from the times we miss the mark.

Because He lives, we can face tomorrow! That is the title of a beautiful hymn, but also a true statement for all times and seasons! How can we not be thankful and receive God’s love so we can share it with others.

No matter how our test may turn out, we can always have confidence that God never fails, and never gives up on us! What a wonderful God.
