Wishing A Very Happy Thanksgiving
To EAA Family and Friends!
EAA Is Thankful for Your Service
The Land Of The Free and The Home Of The Brave!
On Monday, November 11, EAA presented the annual Veterans Day Concert as a "Thank You" to the brave women and men who have sacrificed so much to keep the USA free. Mr. Spencer and the Fine Arts Department performed band and choral selections, along with the Drama class, to honor and pay tribute to those who have served or are active duty in the US military.

Friday, November 15, will go down in EAA legend as the first Color Run. Organized by EAA's Home and School Association, until the leadership of Tara Lazo, the day was a huge success. What could be more fun than running on the track on a beautiful fall day, feeling the wind and colored powder in your hair, eyes, on your hands, clothes..EVERYWHERE?

Students solicited funds for participation and brought in $13,330 through their efforts. The funds will be used to replace the turf under the playground equipment. If there are additional funds, new light-weight chairs will be purchased for performances in the gym and the auditorium.

EAA parent, Carol Tyner Pankiw, and her company OOLY sponsored the Color Run and provided shirts for every participant. If you go to the company website, Ooly.com, you will understand why this was the perfect match for a Color Run Sponsorship. The website is a burst of color. Since 2005, OOLY has been manufacturing colorful products, that are fresh and designed to add a spark of creativity to the world. Take a moment to look at the website and you will be drawn to the amazing and colorful products. Thank you, OOLY and Carol Tyner Pankiw for your generous support of EAA.

3rd Grade Studies Ecosystems
What are some of the effects of climate change on the earth and the creatures that live here? 3rd graders studied about different animals, their habitats and what they need to thrive. Each student gave a class presentation of what they had learned through their research. Power-point, charts, posters, dioramas and visual aids were all used to share the information.
Thank you, Mrs. Shitabata, for providing such a wonderful opportunity for students to learn presentation skills and to talk about ways to make the earth a safe place for all of God's creation.
EAA Sports
At the end of each Varsity Sports season, Seniors are recognized for their contributions to EAA through their participation and leadership.

Girl's Volleyball closed out the season with a huge "Thank You" to Senior, Kiana "Kiki" Shetler. Kiki has been part of EAA Volleyball for each of her four high school years. Thank you, Kiki, for your dedication and for being an amazing Hawk!
Seniors Ethan Aguilina, Aker Pan and Benji Rangel played their last Varsity Football game as EAA Hawks during the Saturday night game at the Loma Linda Tournament Their leadership, both on and off the field, will be missed. Thank you all for demonstrating Hawk sportsmanship and spirit.
After-School Tutoring Program

EAA is trying something new in the library! On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, the library is now open until 4:30. The students have always used the extra time to take AR tests, but now we have really expanded. Some high school students have generously volunteered their time to tutor. Math, so far, has been the most common request, but this opportunity might include any subject area.

The library is also a great place to just relax with a book. Recently, a donation of scrapbooking materials was received that started several students on a new hobby. Obtaining a box of supplies to master math facts is in the works. No matter the task, there are more smiles than I can count in here!

The Davis Principles
Hawks Family,

It is the season of thanksgiving. Time for us to reflect on the things with which we are blessed. If you are like me, I focus too often on the things that I don't have, or the things that I can't do. In Psalms 100:4-5 it says "enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation."

So, in this time of thanksgiving, I thank God first and foremost for the students here at EAA. They are our purpose. Secondly, I thank God for every family member that sacrifices to give their students the opportunity to be a part of the EAA school family. Finally, I am thankful to God for the Faculty and Staff that work so diligently to teach and love OUR kids.

So, in this time of giving thanks, take the time to enjoy ALL that God has given you. Recognize the ways that you are blessed, day in and day out.

Many blessings to you and your families!
