Dear Partners & Community Leaders,
As we close out this powerful quarter, we’re proud to share a moment that reflects the very heartbeat of The Empowerment Center: the graduation of our Spring 2025 CHW Academy Cohort.
On July 18th, we celebrated our largest class yet—60 graduates—who completed 12 weeks of intensive training to become certified Community Health Workers with a focus on mental health and trauma-informed care. These remarkable individuals pushed through significant barriers to finish strong, and they are now stepping into essential roles across workforce sectors, including healthcare, housing, education, and social services.
We were especially honored to welcome Paul Aguirre of the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) as our keynote speaker. Paul did a phenomenal job helping graduates see the critical role they play in the workforce, and he shared a bold statewide vision: California aims to train 25,000 Community Health Workers by 2030. Our CHW Academy program is helping to fulfill California's CHW initiative, and Paul's words were affirming to our participants, welcoming 60 more CHWs to the High Road Training Partnership Family.
To our funders and community partners—thank you. Thank you for continuously believing in us and supporting our programming. Your partnership allows us to keep bridging the gap between wellness and well-being, and to equip everyday people to earn a family-sustaining wage and become frontline service professionals and agents of change. Let's continue to build a more resilient workforce...together.
With deep gratitude,
Teresse & Tiffany
