Six students graduating from the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB) were awarded their Bachelor's Degree diplomas at the University's graduation ceremony held July 23rd at the N'Sa Hotel in Grand-Bassam.  In addition, several IUGB alumni who finished Bachelor and Master's Degree programs in the United States were awarded diplomas.

Approximately 400 parents, guests and friends of the graduates attended the event, which featured welcome remarks from IUGB President Professor Saliou Touré , and a keynote speech by Mr. Jean Kacou Diagou, president of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d'Ivoire (GCECI), an organization which sponsors a variety of programs to help business and entrepreneurs in Côte d'Ivoire.

According to President Touré, graduates of IUGB have received the academic training that will make them competitive in business on a national, sub-regional and international level. He noted an IUGB education "will allow you (graduates) to anticipate and quickly adapt to present and future needs of society and the economy." He added, "Your personal determination, diligence in work, as well as the knowledge and skills you received at IUGB, will undoubtedly help you meet future challenges."  Read More...
Good Progress, but Your Help is Still Needed!

IUGB's second commencement ceremony is the perfect opportunity to update you on the status of our Invest for Success Scholarship campaign.  At this writing, we have raised $101,000 with some pledges still outstanding.  This puts us a little over halfway to our campaign goal of $200,000 by the end of 2016.  Funds on hand will allow us to award scholarships to approximately 8 students, 7 shy of our mark of 15.  While this doubles the number of scholarships awarded last year, we are determined to reach our goal,  with your help.
IUGB is making remarkable progress: student enrollment is growing, the university is consistently adding competent and experienced faculty and staff, and additional classroom and designated learning spaces are increasing as evidenced by the recent opening of a new Science and Technology Center.  Also, IUGB is building out its STEM curriculum to offer degrees in mechanical and petroleum engineering and other disciplines.  As the institution grows, the university is maintaining its high standards of excellence. Our greatest immediate need is financial support for over 50% of students who will require this assistance to attend the University.
We sincerely appreciate the many contributions received to-date.  However, we appeal to those of you who have been putting off writing a check or going online to make a gift to this worthy cause to act now and make a donation.  Your support makes it possible for gifted students to access and make the most of a superior education.  Donating is easy-and you'll have the lifetime reward of educating leaders who will help develop their own countries and also contribute to global well-being.

If you are a motivated, hardworking student ready to contribute to your local and the global community, we urge you to apply today.  Click on the link below for the application & criteria.
