Many of us feel discomfort at the shorter and colder days that show up this time of year. After the high and bright energy of summer, the transition to a more introverted time of year can feel unwelcome. As I look out the window of the studio, with snow falling down on Mainstreet, I find myself welcoming the opportunity to slow down, to take a deep breath, and welcome the season of fall (and winter!) We are given the opportunity in life to choose each day how we will live our days. I'm reminded of the incredible power of choice in my life, especially when I see others around me and far away whose choices are limited, or are denied them entirely. So, when I feel the cold rolling in and see the snow falling down on a day like this, I am reminded that although gratitude is both an attitude and a feeling - ultimately, gratitude is a choice. W
e show gratitude in our actions and we feel it in our hearts, and ultimately it is up to us to choose it, or not
. A
s I welcome students to the studio each day, I'm grateful to witness disgruntled hair arriving alongside tears on cheeks. Life is happening for each and everyone of us everyday, and season after season, I witness all of you showing up.
Each and every one of you remind me of the incredible power of choice in our lives, as you choose yourselves, your mat, and your breath.
We had many exciting things happening at the studio in October including a few Halloween festivities! These included a howling good time at our
Family Yoga class with Tahl Ghitter-Kalsi, handing out treats to kiddos during the Halloween on Mainstreet event, and a very successful sock collection initiative for Socktober! Thank you to everyone who participated and for those who brought socks to the studio for those in need.
We have all of our series classes starting up in November, as well as a couple of workshops on the roster. First up, we will take a dive into anatomy & the physical body with a pelvic floor and core workshop with Meagan Synnott. We're also excited to be hosting the Sheep Creek Yoga Collective Community Collaboration Class being taught by Megan Luther & Lauren Demytruk on November 16. If you're looking for a more unique and consistent offering, be sure to check out our series classes . You can try these out as a drop-in or commit to a full 6 weeks starting early November. Registering soon is always recommended to ensure your spot! If you ever have questions about any of our offerings, please do not hesitate to reach out by phone or email, or of course ask when you're here in person - we're always happy to help guide you through our diverse array of experiences.
As always, thank you all for the choices you make each day which contribute to your health & wellbeing, and the wellbeing of the world around you. The choices we make have a ripple effect and each time you walk through the door of the studio, you create a ripple of good. Thank you for making the community of Yoga in Bowness one place you show up in choice for yourself. We are so grateful for you!
With Gratitude,
Nellie
