Soham Ghoshal, Hunter College ’20, is passionate about service and addressing disparities in health care. As an immigrant, he encountered barriers to access in medical care; at Hunter, he took on some of these challenges by participating in biomedical science research, which led him to win the prestigious Jonas E. Salk Award for future biomedical studies. After graduating as a class valedictorian, Soham is pursuing his M.D. at Harvard Medical School.
Soham’s Advice: “It truly takes a village to grow. Reach out to professors, mentors and friends who have done great work and ask them about getting involved! Stay humble, kind, and true to your values even when times get hard, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by incredible support.”
