Last week, we cut the ribbon at the new location of member Wrentham Cooperative Bank at 144 Main Street, Norfolk. This is the bank's third location with the other two at 102 South Street and 1005 South Street in Wrentham.

Branch Manager Amy Linehan offered us a warm welcome. State Representative Marcus Vaughn presented Bank President Scott Terrian and Amy Linahan with a citation from the State House welcoming the bank to Norfolk.

Wrentham Cooperative Bank offers a range of business and personal products and services. The bank provides checking, money market, individual retirement, and savings accounts.

More than just a bank, Wrentham Cooperative has been a place people can trust for all of their personal and business financial needs since 1901. Unlike most banks, they provide you with the services you actually want and need, not the services they want you to buy. They work quietly and steadily every day to improve their services and offices to ensure that their customers receive the best banking experience possible.

Leap into Kindness with Us in 2024!

Leap of Kindness Day was created in 2016 by the Saratoga, New York, Chamber of Commerce, to inspire everyone to do something great for someone else.

On the first Leap of Kindness Day, 50 Chambers of Commerce in 30 states had thousands of people take part by cooking a meal for first responders, collecting essential items for non-profits, facilitating canned food drives for food pantries, or something as simple as having students write a thank you card to someone they love.

Here is more information about this year's Leap of Kindness Day in Saratoga, NY.

So, what will you do with an extra day on February 29? We invite you to jump on the bandwagon and bring some light into lives across the United Regional Chamber of Commerce community.

Send your ideas to jack@unitedregionalchamber.org.

In the weeks leading up to February 29, we’ll post the suggestions offered to help encourage kindness on the United Regional Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and in our enews. Let’s see what can do together.

Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation Awards $158,000 in Grants to 13 Non-profits in the Taunton/Attleboro Region

Bristol County Savings Bank’s Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF) awarded grants totaling $158,000 to 13 non-profit organizations in the

Taunton/Attleboro region during a ceremony recently at Pawtucket Country Club in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. All total, including the SouthCoast and northern Rhode Island regions, the Foundation donated $376,300 to 46 charitable organizations.

Since the foundation was formed in 1996, more than $31 million has been committed to hundreds of different non-profits in the communities the bank serves. In 2023, the

foundation awarded $2.3 million to various 501(c)(3) organizations. The organizations that received grants from the foundation are as follows:

Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative ($10,000)

Attleboro YMCA ($25,000)

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South ($15,000)

Community Access to Rides (CAR) Program ($5,000)

Hockomock Area YMCA ($50,000)

North Attleborough Historical Society ($2,500)

Old Colony Historical Society ($5,000)

Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen ($7,500)

Safe Coalition ($5,000)

Society of St. Vincent de Paul District Council of Attleboro ($10,000)

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Taunton District, Inc. ($3,000)

The Literacy Center ($10,000)

True Diversity, Inc. ($10,000)

Patrick J. Murray, Jr., president of the BCSCF and president and CEO of BCSB, awarded the grants to the organizations. Also participating in the event were

Shaunna O’Connell, Mayor, City of Taunton and representatives from the BCSCF advisory boards and the Bank’s area branches.

“As we are a community bank, we gravitate toward people who are helping people and what better example of that than the non-profit organizations we are supporting today,” said Murray. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact of these grants as we continue to realize our mission of making the communities that we serve a better place to live and work.”
