The Pandemic unleashed a lot of situations. Stuck at home, quarantined, nothing to do. Much good came from sitting idly...but much "not so goo" happened as well
Illegal street racing has been one of those "not so good" things.
Have you been a witness? Many of us have. A street corner is advertised on social media that this will be the corner to be at a certain time on a certain day. The street intersection is suddenly taken over by cars burning rubber and screeching to chase each other while a flood of people crowd the area cheering them on. The streets are left ugly and unattractive with dark, unseemly tire marks...not to mention, It's frightening and dangerous.
Our City Council is working to make this activity illegal, with strict fines and jail time a distinct possibility.
"LA City Council seeks law to crack down on street racing promoters. LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to explore the feasibility of making it illegal to encourage, promote, instigate, assist, facilitate, aid or abet a street race or reckless driving exhibition."
